AeroVision recently worked with Ryloff Management Company, a holding and management company for FedEx shipping operations. AeroVision provided data visualization and engineering support to allow Ryloff to draw strong business insights and better understand costs, profitability, and resource utilization across multiple business units and sites.

Ryloff and FedEx
Ryloff Management is a holding and management company responsible for FedEx shipping operations in the Tulsa metropolitan area. They manage tire changes, fleet and truck maintenance, driver compensation, and package delivery data. These systems were separate, and as such, it was difficult to derive useful information from their disparate data sets. As you can imagine, in a business like theirs, there are plenty of opportunities for optimization just by clean analysis of logistics data.
Ryloff and EOS
Ryloff Management has been following EOS for 3+ years with newly identified goals each year. For the year 2021, Ryloff needed to find hidden revenue opportunities for the business through a series of scorecard dashboards to help track labor costs through the fleet operations. What started as a scorecard project, ultimately evolved into a data infrastructure spin up. The organization needed to build the pipes and warehouse to allow clean data feeds from all tracking systems before building the fancy dashboards to showcase the data. AeroVision was able to step in perform our Business Process Mapping (BPM) to further understand the current method for data flow in the organization. This helps tune the final roadmap for success so that our clients have a clear picture on how to automate workflows and reduce manual data entry. Gaining Insight Into Your Business
The goal for the project was to surface all of the data together in a set where different metrics could be seen together, giving better business insights. It was important for Ryloff to understand not only how many packages were delivered, but what kinds of packages and the costs associated with delivery. Just like working with any organization implementing EOS, AeroVision understands the functions such as PROCESS and DATA. These are the two functions in the EOS model that are fairly technical and can be solved with good data engineering and analytics. The insights can then help the business achieve financial goals that are tied to important metrics.
Making It Happen
In order to accomplish this task, AeroVision.io had to first integrate all of the data sets. This required several different systems for data capture, since separate programs exported data in different formats. Then, the data needed to be audited and cleaned. In many cases, internal data sets are made less useful through manual entry, process errors, and incompatible formatting. Once the data was usable, it was visualized in a dashboard which showed useful metrics with the ability to drill down deeper into the component data. Complete Data Awareness
In the end, Ryloff Management was able to easily understand their cost of operations, and useful metrics for both managers and employees. Business insights for cost savings and employee incentives were made more visible and accessible through data auditing, cleaning, and visualization. AeroVision is ready to partner with more EOS Implanters so we can impact companies across the US looking to effectively measure data and improve their business processes.
